On Wednesday, January 28th, we will celebrate “Make-A-Wish Wednesday” at the elementary school! Students may dress in a costume of what they wish to be when they grow up or as a Disney character in celebration of our Make-A-Wish child, who wishes for a trip to Disney World.
In conjunction with the high school Mu Alpha Theta organization, elementary students are having a Dollar Drive to raise money for Make-A-Wish. High school students raised a total of $1,387.48, so the elementary students are challenged to beat that total or double it to make a wish come true for a very deserving child.
Car’Lyah is ten years old and has cancer. She lives in Hattiesburg and receives treatments at the Mississippi Children’s Cancer Center at Blair Batson Hospital in Jackson. Car’Lyah’s wish is a trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. Her trip has not been scheduled because she has been receiving treatments and completed them in December. Her doctor will determine when she can travel. Let’s do our part to make Car’Lyah’s wish come true!
You may send your donation to school with your child or drop off at the Dollar Drive boxes on the first floor of the elementary. Thank you!
