New shoe options for Pre-K through 12th grade students for the 2017-2018 school year are included in the link below. Our administration and the uniform committee has worked diligently with input from students, teachers, parents and vendors to consider options that will accommodate the wide range of needs of our students — price, durability, size, width, adequate support and availability.

School Shoe Information

All students must be wearing shoes from these choices beginning with the first day of school for the 2017-2018 school year.

  • Students in 7th-12th grade will be allowed to wear a grey tennis shoe of choice through May 2017.
  • If you need to purchase shoes between now and August, please choose from the attached list.
  • Shoes must be kept clean, and must be worn with the original shoelaces.
  • This same document will be distributed to all teachers and students, and the options will be thoroughly explained.

Shoe Carnival (by Hobby Lobby) will continue to be our primary provider of shoes, but you will notice on the attached pages that most of these shoes are available from other local businesses and online. Shoe Carnival is planning a 30% off weekend in July, and they offer buy one/get one half off specials, and a $5/$10 off coupon in the coupon books sold by speech & debate.

We will be eliminating the white polo option on both campuses, beginning with the start of the 2017-2018 school year. Elementary students will still have the red polo as part of their uniform, and the high school students will have the navy polo. The red polo will become part of the mass uniform for students who wear a polo to mass.
The high school plaid skirt must be worn at a length that is 2″ from the top of the knee when standing. Please purchase a new skirt if needed. This length will be enforced.
Additional updates to uniform rules will be communicated before the end of the school year.
Due to curriculum changes and scheduling conflicts, we will not be offering the Strings elective for 7th-12th grade during the 2017-2018 school year. Students will be given their next choice of elective from their choices sheet. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Bowen at 601-450-5736 or by email at lbowen@shshattiesburg.com.
