Providing excellence in education since 1900, Sacred Heart Catholic School is a comprehensive, co-educational, college-preparatory school. With an average annual enrollment of more than 650 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, Sacred Heart is located on two campuses in historic downtown Hattiesburg, Mississippi. As a ministry of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and member of the Diocese of Biloxi, Sacred Heart offers its students a solid foundation centered on faith and values with a focus on academic excellence, individual growth in athletics and fine arts, and the importance of serving the community.

Sacred Heart Elementary

The elementary campus is the original site of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, established in 1889, and the school in 1900. Beginning in prekindergarten, students experience a multi-sensory approach to learning, which builds a strong foundation of excellence in education. Teachers encourage cognitive, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical growth. With an average and intentional class size of 20 students, students learn the core subjects of language arts, science, math, social studies, and religion. Students participate in six activity classes throughout the week: art, music, physical education, library, foreign language, and computer. In prekindergarten through first grade, a certified faculty member and an additional teacher assistant teach all classes.

 Sacred Heart High School

Sacred Heart High School moved to West Pine for the 2011–2012 school year. The formal motto is Excellence in Education since 1900. Sacred Heart students prove this in the following ways:

• Faith: The spiritual lives of Sacred Heart students are enriched through a variety of activities throughout the year. Service is a vital component of a student's Sacred Heart education.
• Academics: Students consistently exceed state and national averages on standardized tests such as the ACT and national assessment. 9th and 10th grade students also received the highest scores on a national assessment, which is the equivalent of the first year of college and beyond. Sacred Heart graduates consistently earn over $4 million in scholarships and attend prestigious colleges and universities throughout the United States, including Duke University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Virginia, and Vanderbilt University.
• Arts: Sacred Heart integrates visual arts, dance, theater, music, and forensics throughout its curriculum. Students regularly conduct performances and compete nationally in speech and debate, mock trials, and quiz bowl. Sacred Heart’s Mock Trial Team won the State Championship for the 14th consecutive year.
• Athletics: Competition continues with seventeen 2A athletic teams. Sacred Heart currently has 23 Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) State Championship titles: one in powerlifting, ten in tennis, two in 1A golf, four in 1A/2A/3A boys’ soccer, and six in 1A/2A/3A girls’ soccer. In addition, our school holds individual player championships in cross-country, golf, powerlifting, swim, tennis, and track. Sacred Heart’s state-of-the-art 20-acre athletic complex, completed in 2016, features a football and soccer stadium, a baseball field, and a softball field.
