With an average annual enrollment of more than 650 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, Sacred Heart is located on two campuses in historic downtown Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The elementary campus is the original site of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, established in 1889, and the school in 1900. Beginning in prekindergarten, students experience a multi-sensory approach to learning, which builds a strong foundation of excellence in education. Teachers encourage cognitive, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical growth. With an average and intentional class size of 20 students, students learn the core subjects of language arts, science, math, social studies, and religion. Students participate in six activity classes throughout the week: art, music, physical education, library, foreign language, and computer. In prekindergarten through first grade, a certified faculty member and an additional teacher assistant teach all classes.
