We are happy to report that Sacred Heart Catholic School has made the Mississippi AP School Honor Roll for 2023, earning Gold with Access Status! This award is evidence of our dedication to academic excellence and our overall goal of expanding our students' access to advanced coursework.
An Outstanding Accomplishment
Only 5% of the 165 qualified schools were named for the 2023 AP School Honor Roll, and Sacred Heart Catholic School is honored to be one of them. The fact that only 1% of Mississippi's qualified schools and 6% of all schools in the US and Canada have achieved Gold status only serves to highlight how amazing this accomplishment is.
Promoting Equity and Access
The 2023 AP School Honor Roll Program honors educational institutions such as ours that not only achieve remarkable outcomes for their students in AP courses but also make noteworthy endeavors to increase accessibility. There are four levels of distinction available for this recognition: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
The Award for AP Access
Sacred Heart Catholic School is among the 22% of Mississippi schools that have been awarded the AP Access Award. This honor demonstrates our consistent and successful dedication to giving every student fair access to advanced coursework. This extra distinction was given to 39% of all qualifying schools.
Standards and Requirements
College Culture: During high school, at least 40% of the graduating class took one or more AP exams.
College Credit: At least 25% of the graduating class must have received a 3 or better on one or more high school AP exams.
College Optimization: During high school, five or more AP examinations were taken by at least 2% of the graduating cohort, with at least one exam being taken in the ninth or tenth grade.
